Installing and Logging Into MT5 
To use your demo account, you need to access the MT5 platform itself, which can be installed on your computer or opened through your browser depending on your preference. The installation process is simple and feels as familiar as downloading any academic software you might use for classes or research. After installation, you open MT5 and select the option to log in with an existing account. This is where you enter the special credentials Deriv provided. Using the correct server is essential because your login will not connect otherwise. Once you enter the details, the platform loads your demo account and displays charts, tools, and trading features. Generating the MT5 Trading Environment 
Once the main platform account is online, the next step consists of generating the MT5 trading environment that connects Deriv’s internal infrastructure to the external terminal used for chart analysis and contract execution. Inside the dashboard, users will find a dedicated area where the platform offers different MT5 account categories, each designed for specific transaction logic, risk levels, and market instruments. To trade binary options through MT5, the user must create the corresponding subaccount, which requires setting a separate password that functions exclusively for MT5 access. This separation is intentional, as it isolates terminal login data from general platform credentials and thus strengthens account security. Immediately after the MT5 account is created, the system assigns a unique trading ID and specifies the exact server name that the user will later enter into the MT5 terminal. This combination of ID, password, and server information forms the core of the authentication process inside MT5, making it essential for students to store the details carefully and understand how these credentials differ from the ones used for the regular platform login.
